TPD Blotter - Feb. 3 - 9

Last week's Toccoa Police Department incidents and arrests reports include a self-inflicted accidental gunshot wound and a reported beating.

Incident: Officer responded to hospital ER in reference to a possible assault. Officer spoke with subject who reported he was “jumped” by someone known to him, plus four other individuals, at the corner of Avon and Elberton streets. Subject stated he was beat with hands, fists, kicked, and struck with solid objects. Subject stated “he had no idea why these people would attack him.


Incident: Officer responded to O’Reilly Auto Parts store on Big A Road in reference to a report of a disturbance. Subject on site reported to officer that she had paid an individual to work on her car, but the car is still broke. Subject advised to file a civil suit at the magistrate court.

Incident: Officer dispatched to Stephens County Hospital in reference to a gunshot wound. Self-inflicted gunshot wound ruled to be accidental.


Incident: Officer dispatched to Salvation Army on E. Franklin Street regarding the removal of a subject. Subject barred from property and advised he would be arrested if he returned.


Incident: Officer recorded a report of a wallet lost at Walmart. Subject reported she may have left wallet in a buggy.

Incident: Officer responded to City Fire Department Station 11 in response to the report of a found tag.Tag had been reported stolen in December 2019. Owner notified.

Incident: Officers dispatched to El Parian parking lot in reference to reports of threats involving a civil issue between a juvenile couple. Juveniles’ parents advised. Juveniles instructed not to have any in-person interactions.


Incident: Officer dispatched to Quebec Drive in reference to a mailbox that had been removed from its post and thrown into the woods.

Incident: A vehicle fail to yield right-of-way at Braswell Street and Falls Road, pulling in front of a patrol car. Officer conducted traffic stop, at which time, subject fled on foot.

Arrest: David, Jonathan L., 41, of Commerce– DUI (refusal), driving while license suspended or revoked, possession of open alcohol container, failure to yield after stopping at stop sign, obstructing a police officer.


Incident: Officer dispatched to city cemetery in reference to a report by a driver who accidentally struck a cement barrier while driving through the cemetery in the snow.


Incident: Officer dispatched to Cumberland Drive in reference to a report of a dispute. Subjects were referred to Magistrate Court regarding the civil matter of retrieving property from a former boyfriend’s sister’s house.

Incident: Officer dispatched to Home Depot on Memorial Drive in reference to a complaint of damage to property caused when a customer drove through the security arm of the lumber department.
