Two armed men enter residence, hold females hostage, and assault male before fleeing.
At approximately 8:30 p.m. last night, June 26, officers with the Toccoa Police Department responded to South Pine Street in references to shots fired.
Victims at the address told officers that the male was outside working on a vehicle when two armed men approached him with guns, forcing him inside. The two females were held in one room by one gunman, while the other gunman took the male victim into the bedroom area and began hitting him with the pistol, according to Police Chief Jimmy Mize.
The suspect assaulting the male then fired a round from the gun into the floor, causing the other suspect to walk into the room, leaving the two women alone. The women then ran out the front door and up the street. The females told officers that, as they left, they saw a small silver car with possibly a Hart County tag with a subject in it.
The two suspects exited the residence and, as the male victim tried to exit the home, the gunmen shot at the residence.
When TPD officers arrived at the scene at 8:42, they tended the male, who was bleeding from the blows to the head with the gun. Detectives were notified and dispatched and the scene was secured and neighbors interviewed about what they had witnessed of the incident.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was notified and their assistance requested in processing the scene and interviewing witnesses and victims. GBI and the TPD were on scene processing evidence until around 4:15 a.m.
The case is still on-going and anyone with information is asked to call the Toccoa Police Department at (706) 282-3302.
