Sunday morning GA 17 crash sends four people to the hospital


At 11:45 this morning, April 19, Bonnie Branch, 67, Charice Lester, 49, and a minor were injured when a 2003 Toyota Camry driven by Douglas Warren Wade, 26, of Tallulah Falls, struck their vehicle, causing it to overturn, according to Georgia State Patrol Post 7 records.


Wade was traveling north on GA 17 Connector and failed to yield while turning left onto GA 17 North near Clarkesville. The Camry struck a 2015 Jeep Patriot, driven by Branch, head on. After impact, the Jeep traveled off the east shoulder and overturned.


Branch was transported by AirLife to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment. Lester and eight-year-old Skyla Warren, who were passengers in the Jeep, were transported to to Northeast Georgia Medical Center by ambulance, as was Wade. The extent of their injuries is not known.


Wade was charged with failure to yield at a stop sign.
