Stephens County Grand Jury - New January Term Indictments

The Stephens County Grand Jury handed down five indictments this morning on charges including theft, burglary and aggravated assault.

The January 2020 Term of the Stephens County Grand Jury met this morning, March 3, and by noon had handed down indictments against five individuals.


The January 2020 Term's first session took place on Jan 6, when they returned indictments against 17 individuals. Today's session of the January 2020 Term of the Stephens County Grand Jury is the final scheduled session


The July 2020 Term of the Stephens County Grand Jury is scheduled to meet on July 9 and Aug. 11.


March 3 Indictments


David Eric Sertain was indicted on one count theft by taking, one count possession of a knife during a felony, one count possession of a controlled substance and one count obstruction of an officer. The indictments stem from an alleged December 2018 theft of a 1998 Chevrolet C-Series Pickup.


Michael Lee Good was indicted on one count burglary in the second degree and one count interference with government property. The indictments stem from a June 2018 incident in Martin, when the accused allegedly entered a building without permission, with the intent to commit theft, and subsequently removed and destroyed a trail camera containing evidence.


Kim Elizabeth Wade was indicted on one count aggravated assault, one count burglary in the first degree, and one count of possession of a knife during the commission of a felony. The indictments stem from an alleged August 2019 knife assault upon an individual after allegedly climbing through the window of a residence with the intent to commit theft.


Casey Dale Crump was indicted on one count of burglary in the first degree. The indictments stem from an alleged March 2019 unauthorized entrance of a dwelling in Toccoa with the intent to commit theft.


Keaton Taylor Savage was indicted on three counts of aggravated assault and one count of cruelty to children in the third degree. The indictments stem from an alleged December 2018 assault of three individuals with a BB gun.


The above listed cases are scheduled for arraignment at 9 a.m. on March 19.
