Statewide overall 10.9% rate of positive COVID test results drops to 8.2% daily rate

Stephens County’s overall confirmed case rate is 2,359 per 100,000 citizens – the rate in the past two weeks is 532 per 100,000 residents, according to GDPH.

There are currently 2,865 patients hospitalized in Georgia who have tested positive for COVID-19.

Total PCR/Molecular Tests – 1,835,048 (37,082 reported in the past 24 hours) – Note that many individuals have more than one PCR test, so this number will not correspond directly to the number of confirmed cases.

10.9% of cumulative tests have been positive, 8.2% of tests conducted in the past 24 hours were positive.


Deaths: 4,199 (13 reported in the past 24 hours)


1,681 (40%) of those 4,199 deaths have occurred amongst residents of Georgia’s long-term-care (LTC) facilities where, statewide, 10,109 (25%) of the 41,212 senior citizens residing in LTC facilities have tested positive for COVID-19. A total of 6,246 (62%) of the senior resdients who tested positive have fully recovered, 1,681 (17%) have died, and 2,182 (21.5 %) are identified as currently infected. 5,030 staff members in Georgia’s LTC facilities have tested positive. There are no statistics available regarding the outcome of those 5,030 staff members.


Of the 3,.722 residents of PruittHealth’s 45 facilities in Georgia, 1,472 (40%) have tested positive, there has been 214 deaths, and 735 have recovered. A total of 619 staff members have tested positive.


According to the GDPH report on Sunday, Stephens County has had a cumulative total of 621 confirmed cases since February. 140 those have been reported in the past two weeks. Stephens County’s overall confirmed case rate is 2,359 per 100,000 citizens – the rate in the past two weeks is 532 per 100,000 residents.

Stephens County Hospital has reported that 643 people have tested positive at the SCH facilities - some of those may have been residents of other counties, and therefore not included in the GDPH report for Stephens County. The hospital has conducted 4,218 tests, 19.44 percent of which returned positive results – including asymptomatic individuals and those who were hospitalized for treatment of symptoms.

In Stephens County, there have been 12 deaths related to COVID 19 and 72 hospitalizations.


At PruittHealth-Toccoa, where they have a resident census of 132, a total of 188 residents have been tested, 91 have tested positive, eight have died, four have been identified as fully recovered, and 43 staff members have tested positive.


At the Clary/Wilkinson Center – which has a resident census of 85 residents – 123 residents have been tested for COVID-19, a total of 19 residents have tested positive, 0 have died, 19 have recovered and six staff members have tested positive.
