The Stephens County High School’s HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) and FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) programs sponsored the sixth annual Miss SCHS pageant on Saturday, Feb. 29, in the school’s Tugaloo Center.
The theme of this year’s show was “Ladies of the Eighties”. The emcee for the evening was the witty Susan Akridge. Thirty-two contestants graced the stage with grace and poise as they danced to an eighties mashup in the opening number, and competed in a casual wear and an evening wear competition.
These girls were interviewed by the judges earlier in the day, and that interview was 50 percent of the overall score.
Winning titles were Emilee Kesler, Miss Freshman, Bradyn Williams, Miss Sophomore, Emma Hopper, Miss Junior, KK Hicks, Miss Senior, and Kaitlin Quick, Miss SCHS. As the winner of Miss SCHS, Kaitlin also received a $1000 scholarship.
Other category winners include: Hazel Collier, Miss Indian Spirit for raising the most money in sponsorships, Bradyn Williams, Most Photogenic, Laci Jane Fletcher, Best Interview, Shivani Patel, Miss Congeniality, and EmmaMae Dumaine, Miss Young Entrepreneur, which is an additional award sponsored and chosen by Dee Dee Arrowood with Keller Williams. EmmaMae won $100 cash and a trophy.
Contestants included: Haley Carter, Sarah Folsom, Chloe Juday, Emilee Kesler, Abbey Miller, Riley Roberts, Mallory Scott, Brooklyn Taylor, Zeyla Coleman, Hazel Collier, Katie Grace Randall, Bradyn Williams,Laci Jane Fletcher, Aubrey Fraser-Tarpley, Emma Hopper, Anna Claire Ivester, Joanna Lowery, Emma Moon, Kinsey Quick, Daysha Vandiver, Samara Walker, Mackenzie Batson, Delta Cartwright, EmmaMae Dumaine, Elizabeth Folsom, Trinity Gilchrist, KK Hicks, Haley Jordan, Kailyn LaCount, Shivani Patel, Kaitlin Quick, Kaylee Rose.
