Indian Alumni Dawson Sorrells inducted into BLITZ Hall of Fame

Dawson Sorrells pitched for the varsity Indians for four years. He is the son of Chad and Amy Sorrells.

"The Indians at Stephens County were blessed to have Dawson Sorrells (P/3B #8) in their program. The workhorse went 20-7 with 2 saves and a 2.26 ERA alongside 201 strikeouts. At the plate, he hit .350 with 2 homers and 55 RBI, scoring 75 runs and drilling out 27 extra-base hits. His sophomore year saw him go 9-2 with a 1.72 ERA and 51 K. He followed that with a 5-2 (3.19) 46 K junior year, and a 5-3 (2.49) 72 K senior season. Sorrells went on to play at East Georgia State," states the BLITZ bio on Sorrells.


On June 19, 52 local athletes were honored for their athleticism and leadership as they were inducted into the BLITZ Hall of Fame. The 2020 Class inductees in each sport were selected by community votes from BLITZ'S 12-county region.


The BLITZ Hall of Fame opened in 2016, inducting 27 players in the inaugural Class of 2016, 31 in 2017, 62 in 2018, a record 66 in 2019, and 52 in 2020. The Hall of Fame also consists of over 60 Hall of Fame Teams and exactly 13 Dynasty programs.

EMMA WHITFIELD was a 2019 inductee in softball

DE’UNDRA SINGLETON was a 2019 inductee in boy's basketball

KOOPER BRILEY was a 2019 inductee in baseball
