COVID-19: Stephens County death toll rises to 14; PruittHealth Toccoa reports corresponding fatality

Today’s Georgia Department of Public Health COVID-19 update indicates that the fatality count for Stephens County has increased to 14 – an increase of once since yesterday. A fatality earlier in the week brought the total to 13 on Tuesday. As with Tuesday’s increase, mandated reporting from the PruittHealth-Toccoa facility shows a matching increase in their COVID-19 fatality count in the past 24 hours.

According to the GDPH Figures,

54,562 of the 228,668 confirmed cases (23.86%) have been among the 18-29 age group, by far the largest percentage of confirmed cases have been among this age group. The next most common age group is the 30-39 age group, where 38,976 have been confirmed (17.045%)

The age group with the highest hospitalization rage – age 60-69, with 4,388 of the 21,581 (20.33%) of the toatl hospitalizations, only accounts for 21,871 (9.56%) of the 228,668 confirmed cases. The 60-96 age group accounts for 846 (18.64%) of the Covid-related fatalities reported by the GDPH.
