Georgia Department of Public Health fatality count rises by one. PruittHealth-Toccoa COVID-19 fatality count increases by five.
The Georgia Department of Public Health is now reporting a cumulative total of 11 Stephens County residents have died from complications of COVID-19 since early February. This is an increase of one death over the figure provided in yesterday’s GDPH update and the first increase since the four deaths reported at the end of July.
In today’s Georgia Department of Community Health Long-Term-Care COVID-19 report, PruittHealth – Toccoa reports seven COVID-19 fatalities – this is an increase of five in the past five days.

Total confirmed cases – 632 patients – including those that were asymptomatic, those with mild symptoms, and those who were hospitalized.
There are currently six confirmed positive patients being treated at Stephens County Hospital, and four patients hospitalized who are awaiting results on their their test for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.
