Information on changes in hours of business, as well as limited purchase policies from Walgreens, Belk and CVS
In the face of the continuing health concerns presented by COVID-19, Walgreens will be implementing several changes in schedules and services. Starting today, and until further notice, the Toccoa Walgreens will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days per week. Normal Walgreen hours are from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Due to high demand, Walgreens will limit the purchase of disinfectant wipes and cleaners, face masks, hand sanitizers, hand soap, thermometers, gloves, over the county pain and pediatric medicines, paper goods, and baby formula. Two products of each product category may be purchase per customerVitamins, rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide and over-the-counter cough and cold treatments are now limited to four per category, per customer.
Until further notice, there will be free delivery on any purchase on Walgreens.com, with no minimum purchase required.
“By operating with reduced hours, our stores will be able to spend the necessary time, while closed, cleaning, sanitizing and stocking shelves each day,” a corporate press release stated.
Belk announced earlier in the week that they would be closing through March 30. Online shopping at www.Belk.comis still available.
CVS in Toccoa has not altered their store or pharmacy hours. According to store management as of 10 a.m. this morning, the store has instituted limited purchase policies on a number of items. Store management could not say which items were being limited, or the specified limits, but said that information is available on signs inside the store.
